Unveiling Pharaonic Holidays: Delightful Feasts and Sacred Traditions of Ancient Egypt

The feast for the ancient Egyptians was a source of happiness and joy, bringing pleasure to the soul, establishing religious rites, making sweets and special food… The women used to cook meat, birds, fish, and everything that was delicious and delicious and present it to their families. The poor used to go to the temples that greeted them, and they were decorated with colored flags hanging on the corners of the temple, and the priests spread perfumes and lit incense everywhere…


The feasts of the ancient Egyptians were many… For example (the feast of the king’s sitting on the throne, New Year’s Day, the celebration of the expulsion of the Hyksos, the harvest feast, the fulfillment of the Nile, the feast of the valley, the birth of Isis, the birth of Tahuti, the feast of Hatour, the sun perpendicular to the Abu Simbel temple) and other national and religious feasts that distinguished the ancient Egyptian .
And also the religious ceremonies whose mention was associated with a legend… Example (Isis and Osiris) and the feast of the divine marriage between (Hathor), the goddess of beauty, and (Horus).


Also, upon the completion of a large project, a celebration was held on this occasion, such as (the completion of building the pyramids) … and the celebration of the memory of war battles such as the battle of (Megiddo), which was led and won by King Thutmose III.
As we said, the holidays were marked by wearing new clothes for adults and children who used to go out to the big squares to play and spend beautiful times with their friends while they were very happy.


The ancient Egyptian, and throughout the ages, despite the different times, but the Egyptians kept the same character and in the way of their ancestors. Celebrations must be held and adhere to some customs that are still well-established in the income of every Egyptian until now.
