Rodin Cars has revealed its latest model, the insane FZERO, and it’s definitely a contender for the next Batmobile.

The New Zealand-based company has only one goal with the insane hypercar – to make it “the fastest car around track, without exception.”

With its mᴀssive rear haunches and a wing that stands far higher than its cockpit, the Rodin FZERO looks exactly like what Bruce Wayne should be driving.

But of course, there are obvious aerodynamic purposes of its design.

A wing that tall should see it stick to the track like super glue as it makes 4000kg of downforce.

“Without the restrictions of building to a set of rules, we are able to make the car lighter, more powerful, and produce significantly more downforce,” Rodin Cars founder David Dicker said.

“The only real restrictions we face are the laws of physics, and we have even pushed those to the absolute limit.”

From front to rear, the FZERO is made entirely from carbon fiber composite.

As a result it only weighs 698kg (1538lbs) – that’s about as light as a car can get.

That’s despite it measuring 5500mm (216.5in) in length, which is longer than a Toyota Land Cruiser.

It’s powered by a crazy hybrid engine as well.

Designed in-house by Rodin Cars, its 4.0-liter twin-turbo V10 and electric motor produces 1176hp and revs all the way to 10,000rpm.

That’s enough to see a top speed of over 360km/h (224mph) despite being designed for downforce.

Rodin FZERO price

The Rodin FZERO won’t come cheap at a price of around $2.2 million (£1.8 million).

However, that’s one-third the price of its nearest compeтιтion, the Red Bull RB17.

Just 27 examples will be made, each built at Rodin Cars’ remote 550-hectare facility on New Zealand’s South Island.

It’s just the second car the company has made, following the FZED – a single-seater race car based on the Lotus T125.
